Dance company signed up to work with degree students

Coleg Sir Gâr’s dance team have invested in a Bafta Cymru award-winning company to work with its degree students on a weEarfall Logoekly basis.

Earthfall, a Cardiff-based contemporary dance group that fuses radical choreography with live music with strong visual imagery, has been signed-up to teach the group throughout their study.

The new BA in dance started last September and is the only degree of its kind in West Wales which is being delivered at the college and at Ffwrnes theatre, Llanelli.

Earthfall won a Bafta Cymru award for Best Short Film and has established itself as an outstanding exponent of pioneering dance theatre.

Christy Anson-Harries, head of dance at Coleg Sir Gâr who has recently completed an MSc in dance science in just a year, said: “We’re lucky enough to have Earthfall’s artistic directors teaching our students.  This company has performed across the world and have been involved in theatre, television and dance education, so we’re confident that our degree students will benefit from their experience.”
