This section of the website is currently under construction and development but Coleg Sir Gâr can help employers develop their workforce by assessing training needs and providing quality training programmes. These can be tailor made to meet business needs including the timing and location of the training. Practical support is also available in the form of work based training programmes such as Foundation and Modern Apprenticeships.
In addition the expertise and resources of the college are available through knowledge and technology transfer, to assist businesses with innovation and product development. SMEs in the construction industry can for examplaccess the brand new Construction Support and Development Centre.
The Centre, which has been funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), aims to support small to medium enterprises (SMEs) in the construction industry by providing free advice on new technologies, new products, materials, regulations as well as environmentally friendly solutions and green energy systems.
Based at the Ammanford Campus , the centre has already helped companies through free seminars and training on issues such as waste management, water quality control, sustainable energy and asbestos awareness. Key suppliers also to display equipment and new technologies at the centre to enable SMEs to access and learn about the very latest machinery and industry tools.
