The Skills for Further Study course is specifically aimed to develop skills and confidence for individuals who are planning on applying for an Access to Higher Education course in the following academic year.
The course consists of units in study skills, communication, digital literacy and numeracy to name a few. All units will help to develop knowledge and skills which will be essential tools to assist them in the completion of an Access to Higher Education course.
The Skills for Further Study course will enable individuals to progress onto the Access to Nursing and Health Professionals (full time and part time) course or the Access to Humanities course.
The course is assessed through many formats, such as essays, discussions, presentations, reports and assignments. There are no formal examinations on this course.
Although there are no formal entry requirements, all applicants must show that skills in Maths, Science and English Language are currently at Level 2 (eg GCSE Grade E and above or equivalent). All applicants are subject to a formal interview.
