A Foundation Apprenticeship is a work-based learning programme at Level 2, where the learner is "earning while learning". The programme is aimed at learners over the age of 16. The Apprentice will be employed and receive at least the minimum Apprenticeship wage. The Apprentice will attend college on a block release basis and should achieve the Level 2 Apprenticeship Framework within the agreed timescale.
Learners who have successfully completed this Foundation Apprenticeship can progress onto an Apprenticeship at Level 3.
Learners following this Foundation Apprenticeship will have to achieve a framework of qualifications, which will include:
Coursework, assignments, work based observations and work based evidence.
Entry requirements for the Level 2 Foundation Apprenticeship in Landbased Engineering, students must complete a one year Level 2 full time course, and practical work experience that will help learners understand the sector prior to starting.
