The Level 3 Certificate in Practical Horticulture provides a route to employment in professional horticulture, by assessing a range of essential horticulture skills, and supports career development for those already working in the profession. It also provides a foundation for further training in the field of horticulture.

This is a well recognised vocational course that will provide an excellent base for work or academia
4 mandatory units:
Soil testing and specifying adjustments for horticulture
Collecting, preparing and propagation from seed
Establishing and maintaining a range of plant types and forms
Identification of a range of common garden plants, weeds,pests,diseases and disorders
Additional optional units:
Planning, collecting,preparing and establishing propagation material
Management of green spaces, landscaped areas and ornamental gardens
Each unit will be assessed by a range of practical activities timetabled by the centre
No formal entry requirements but the completion of the Level 2 Practical RHS course is suggested.
All learners are required to pay an administration fee of £45 prior to enrolment.
You will need to provide your own stationery and may also incur costs if the department arranges educational visits.
