The BA Social Care Studies programme really is unique, as it’s the only course of its kind in Wales. It enables students who already hold a related foundation degree or equivalent to complete additional modules (120 credits) to top up to a BA (Hons) qualification. The course offers further opportunity to explore individual interests be that working with children, young people or adults in all areas of the social care sector. It aims to encourage further exploration of a broad range of topics. This allows students to tailor the course content to their own areas of interest or own professional development. The course is validated by the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. The content of the course is kept up to date by the lecturers who all have a professional background in the social care field.

Delivery of the course is blended, which means that students are provided with face to face lectures supported by online learning, resources and individual tutorials. Students are also expected to engage in self-directed, independent study. Study can be full-time (2 days a week) over one year, or part time (1 day a week) over two years at our Ammanford campus. At a Glance
