Administration Skills will include:

• procedures relating to registration of patients
• appointments and appointment systems
• use of office equipment
• general office administration duties
• importance of time management and accuracy

Communication Skills will include:

• develop skills to communicate with a range of peoplelogy
• develop skills in face-to-face, written and non-verbal communication
• develop understanding of the importance of communication and factors which make communication difficult
• develop skills for composing appropriate written documents

Candidates achieving this qualification can progress:

• Level 2 Medical Terminology and Medical Audio Transmission Certificate

Assessment will be in the form of two time constrained tasks - one in Medical Administration and one in Communication Skills - which will generate evidence of achievement for all assessment criteria and required learning outcomes.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, although a good understanding of the English language is considered to be beneficial with particular focus on accuracy in spelling, together with either experience in a medical environment or a wish to move into this area.
