This course incorporates the BTEC Level 2 Technical Certificate in Business Administration and the BTEC Level 2 First Award in Business qualifications, which are globally recognised and benchmarked.
The focus is on the development of technical, practical and transferable work-related skills and business specific knowledge. The development of these skills is key for learners to progress to work, further education or to an apprenticeship.
You will be fully supported in developing new ways of working and broadening your skills and knowledge of the business environment.
Successful completion of the course will enable you to progress to an apprenticeship in Business Administration as well as to higher-level courses including Level 3 Business, Marketing and Finance or Level 3 Enterprise and Event Management.
You may also progress to employment in administrative roles as this qualification provides evidence of achievement of a range of practical skills, as well as of underpinning knowledge and understanding of administration.

Both qualifications are assessed via a mix of internally set assignments set by your lecturers and external examinations set by BTEC.
Suitability for this course will be assessed at interview.
An applicant will need to have good written and verbal communication skills demonstrated during a short assessment at interview.
English and Maths are an integral part of the course. Students who do not yet have the necessary grades at C or above will have additional teaching and support to study for either GCSE or Essential Skills depending on prior GCSE grades.
All learners are required to pay an administration fee of £45 prior to enrolment.
You will need to provide your own stationery and may also incur costs if the department arranges educational visits.
