An Apprenticeship is a work based learning programme at Level 2 where the learner is earning while learning. The programme is aimed at learners over the age of 18 currently working in or intending to work in the health and social care sector in roles such as a social care worker, healthcare support worker or healthcare assistant.
The Apprentice will be employed and receive at least the minimum Apprenticeship wage. The Apprentice will attend college on a regular basis and should achieve the Level 2 Apprenticeship Framework within the agreed timescale.

Learners following this Foundation Apprenticeship will have to achieve a framework of qualifications which will include:

Learners who have successfully completed this Apprenticeship can progress onto an Apprenticeship at Level 3.
Apprentices will attend taught sessions either online or in the classroom, to cover the level two core content.
The core is assessed through case studies and an online exam.
The practice is assessed through coursework, assignments, work based observations and work based evidence.
There are no formal entry requirements however applicants must be in paid employment in the health and social care sector with a contract of at least 16 hours a week.
