Hospitality Supervision & Leadership Level 3

Programme Description


The Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership is a full-time course designed for learners who are interested in the hospitality and catering, events, and the service industry. The course is provided at our Pibwrlwyd Campus within our purpose-built Hospitality and Catering department.  

This full-time course gives learners the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge required to plan and manage events, restaurants, bars, coffee shops and hotels within the sector.

The course provides learners with an insight into Britain’s fastest growing industry and prepares the student for the world of work in hotels, restaurants, bars, and clubs by gaining hands-on experience in our onsite training restaurant.

Programme Features


Learners will cover a range of vocational led units during their study that may include: promoting products and services; leading a team; food and drink supervision; controlling resources and health, safety, hygiene and security in the workplace. 

Learners will also gain supervisory experience by supervising events and services throughout the year in our onsite Training Restaurant, Merlin’s. 

Programme Content


Mandatory units include:

  • Set objectives and provide support for team members
  • Develop working relationships with colleagues
  • Contribute to the control of resources
  • Maintain the health, hygiene, safety and security of the working environment
  • Lead a team to improve customer service

Optional units to include:

  • Contribute to promoting hospitality products and services
  • Supervise the wine store/cellar and dispense counter
  • Supervise food services
  • Supervise drink services

Progression & Employment


Completion of the course may lead to employment in a variety of sectors related to the hospitality and catering industry including restaurants, bars, nightclubs, hotels, cruise ships to include supervision/junior supervisor roles. 

Method of Assessment


Learners will be assessed by producing a portfolio of evidence whilst training in a Real Working Environment at our onsite Merlin’s restaurant.

Entry Requirements


A Level 2 qualification in Hospitality or Catering and, OR relevant industry experience; to be discussed at interview.

Additional Costs


All learners are required to pay an administration fee of £45 prior to enrolment.

The purchasing of a full college restaurant uniform - details will be provided at the interview stage.
