Programme Description

This 18 month part-time programme is validated and accredited by University of Wales Trinity Saint David and is intended to build on knowledge and skills gained as a result of previous study.  It has been designed to provide a qualification appropriate for those people already practicing, those who intend to practice as higher technicians and those who wish to progress on to further study

Programme Features

The main aim of the course is to meet the changing needs of the built environment by preparing those studying at this level to gain a recognised foundation degree that meets the current and future needs of the industry. This qualification is for  those already working in the industry and are able to evidence an appropriate level of responsibility within their role.

Programme Content

The modular programme comprises five modules (a total of 120 level five credits).  A qualification is awarded when all modules have been successfully completed.

Progression & Employment

This course provides an opportunity for those wishing to progress in, or enter into, a range of construction related careers such as architectural technology, project management, building control, surveying, site management, maintenance and services. There is opportunity for those studying at this level to progress to an honours degree programme of study subject to successful completion of the required modules and credits.

Method of Assessment

The modules are assessed through a combination of assignments and examinations, plus (for the full award) and an approved work experience diary. 

Entry Requirements

HNC Construction Management and Technology (120 credit L4) or a construction related Higher National Certificate (HNC) or equivalent with appropriate credit profile subject to university approval.
