BSc (Hons) Construction Management & Technology

Programme Description



This two-year part-time degree programme is validated and accredited by UWTSD and is intended to provide a coherent programme of study which develops the theoretical, practical and management skills necessary to meet the demands of a dynamic, rapidly changing industry.  

It has been designed to provide a qualification appropriate for those people already practising, those who intended to practice as construction professionals and those wanting to progress onto further study.  The successful completion of this programme results in an award of the BSc (Hons) degree in Construction Management and Technology. 


Programme Features



The main aim of the course is to meet the changing needs of the built environment by preparing those studying at this level to gain a recognised degree that meets the current and future needs of the industry. 


Progression & Employment



This course provides an opportunity for those wishing to progress in, or enter into, a range of construction related careers such as architectural technology, project management, buildling control, surveying, site management, maintenance and services. 


Programme Content



The modular programme comprises five modules (a total of 120 Level 6 credits).  

 

Modules in Year 1 - 

Construction Contract and Environmental Law

Construction Technology for Sustainable Buildings

Construction Management Studies

 

Modules in Year 2 - 

Integrated Group Project

Dissertation (8,000 words)


Programme Assessment



Year 1 assessment will be through three module assignments and three examinations

Year 2 assessment will be through an integrated group project assignment and an 8,000 word dissertation


Programme Entry Requirements



  • Foundation degree, HND related qualification subject to UWTSD regulations
