The Creative Industries department at Coleg Sir Gar is a vibrant and exciting area, with many opportunities for performing and links to industry.

Performing Arts have strong links with Young Actors Studio and Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, as well as UWTSD, S4C and Yr Egin in Carmarthen. We have a new performance theatre company "Cwmni Theatr Glo" which will facilitate all our performances in the college. We will be involved in the "It's My Shout" project this year, which will enable learners to gain a BBC broadcast credit. 

Music Technology have two strands: Performing and Production, and we have the state-of-the-art facilities at the college, including a new 1608-II Recording and Mixing console. We host a "Battle of the Bands" competition which is open across the whole college, and have had many successes in the annual World Skills competitions. Students progress on to university/college such as BIMM or Leeds academy or work in studios, such as Angel Studios, S4C and Tinopolis. 

Creative Media now has two exciting strands for you to develop your media interests in Sports & Live action Film making and Animation & Film production. We have strong links with S4C, BBC studios, Yr Egin, and now also with Tinopolis. Students are entered for World Skills competitions, and our student won Gold at the Inspiring Skills competition this year. We have groups progressing into the Creative Media World Skills competition, which is opening up experience and opportunities world-wide.
