This level four part-time diploma provides a progression route for experienced and qualified hairdressing and beauty professionals who work unsupervised, possibly in a supervisory or managerial role, and have a high level of relevant knowledge and skills.

Programme Features
The hairdressing team are fortunate to have strong links with local and national industry specialists and you will be being taught by our industry-experienced staff.
We have visiting speakers from the industry that provide students with enrichment opportunities via workshop seminars.
You will study mandatory units such as salon management, public relations and hair and scalp specialisms.
The course will be delivered over four hours a week over two academic years.

The content of the qualification is comprised of mandatory units:
Quality management of client care in the hair and beauty sector
Manage the creation of a hair style collection
Salon management
Hair and scalp specialist service
Progression & Employment
Depending on the progression route you have decided to follow, there are variable units for each route which will support you in your supervisory or managerial role.
The course can also lead you to:
Competent business set-up
Competent degree status with more study
Advanced practitioner
Level three in assessors award
Level five certificate in salon management.
You will be involved in a thriving programme of activities and given an insight into career prospects within the industry, which are gained through trips and events.

Entry Requirements
Suitability for this course will be assessed at interview, however we require:
Successful completion of NVQ/VRQ level three hairdressing / beauty therapy
Five GCSEs at grades A* to C, which include either English language or Welsh (first language) and maths.
Potential candidates need to be aware that excellent attendance and punctuality is essential.
Additional Costs
This part-time course fee is currently £380.
You will have access to a range of equipment and resources at college but in addition, consumable products and a uniform may need to be purchased. This information will be given prior to your start date and can be discussed at interview.
