This level four qualification in massage provides a progression route with advanced technical skills for complementary therapists.
The course will enable you to add additional treatment techniques and applications to your existing repertoire whilst further developing your knowledge of the theories and practices for advance applications in massage.
It is designed to give you the essential knowledge to assist you in providing advanced therapeutic skills within a clinical setting.
The college runs a commercial training salon open to the public which will provide you with a real working environment.
We are fortunate to have strong links with local and national industry specialists and you will be taught by our industry-experienced staff.
We have visiting speakers from the industry that provide students with enrichment opportunities via workshop seminars.
You will study mandatory advanced techniques in various massage disciplines that will prepare you to maximize your understanding and precision in working practices within the industry.
The course will be delivered between one to two days a week which includes one evening over 12 weeks.
This qualification is designed to lead to employment in a variety of roles, either self employment, complementary therapy clinics, beauty or spa facilities or private practice. This qualification may also lead to employment within a hospital, hospice or other health-care environment.
You will be involved in a thriving programme of activities and given an insight into career prospects within the industry which are gained through trips and events.
Students will also have the opportunity to apply for work experience if they are not already working in the sector.
There is the strong possibility of securing employment during the course.

Suitability for this course will be assessed at interview.
To be eligible for registration for this qualification, it is a requirement that you are a qualified complementary therapist with a level three (or equivalent) qualification in all three main disciplines of complementary therapies, namely - aromatherapy, reflexology and massage.
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology at level three or equivalent is also a mandatory requirement.
We also require five GCSEs at grades A* to C, which include either English language or Welsh (first language) and maths, or a level two diploma.
Potential candidates need to be aware that excellent attendance and punctuality is an essential part of this course.
This part time course fee is currently £218.
You will have access to a range of equipment and resources at the college but in addition, consumable products and a uniform will need to be purchased. This information will be given prior to your start date.
Various trips are organised throughout the academic year relating to the beauty industry, of which you will be required to pay a contribution towards.
