Reflexology Level 4

Programme Description

The level four diploma in reflexology provides a progression route with advanced technical skills for complementary therapists. 

This qualification will enable you to add additional techniques for treatment applications to your existing repertoire whilst further developing your knowledge of the theories and practices for advance applications reflexology. 

This qualification is designed to give you the essential knowledge to assist you in providing advanced therapeutic skills within a clinical setting.

Programme Features

The college runs a commercial beauty and holistic therapies suite which is open to the public and will provide you with a real working environment. 

We are fortunate to have strong links with local and national industry specialists and you will be taught by our industry-experienced staff. 

We also have visiting speakers from the industry that provide students with enrichment opportunities in workshop seminars.

You will study mandatory advanced techniques in reflexology disciplines that will prepare you to maximize understanding and precision in working practices within the industry.

The course will be delivered  between one to two days a week  which includes one evening over 12 weeks. 

Progression & Employment

This qualification is designed to lead to employment in a variety of roles, either self employment, in a complementary therapy clinic, beauty or spa facilities or private practice. This qualification may also lead to employment within a hospital, hospice or other health-care environment. 

You will be involved in a thriving programme of activities and an insight into career prospects of the industry, which are gained through trips and events. Students will have the opportunity to apply for work experience if they are not already working in the sector.

There is the strong possibility of securing employment during the course.

Programme Content

The content of the qualification is comprised of the following mandatory units:

  • Interpersonal skills for the complementary therapist 
  • Advanced reflexology techniques for the complementary therapist 
  • Advanced anatomy and physiology for the complementary therapist

Programme Assessment

As part of this programme the following methods of assessment will be used:

  • Practical examination
  • Continuous assessments
  • Portfolio of evidence
  • Written assessments

Programme Entry Requirements

Suitability for this course will be assessed at interview. 

To be eligible for registration, it is a requirement that you are a qualified complementary therapist with a level three (or equivalent) qualification in all three main disciplines of complementary therapies, namely - aromatherapy, reflexology and massage.

Anatomy and physiology knowledge at level three or equivalent is also a mandatory requirement as are five GCSEs at grades A* to C, which include either English language or Welsh (first language) and maths, or a level two diploma. 

Potential candidates need to be aware that excellent attendance and punctuality is essential.

Additional Costs

This part time course fee is currently £218. 

You will have access to a range of equipment and resources at college but In addition, consumable products and a uniform will need to be purchased. This information will be given prior to your start date and can be advised at interview.

Various trips are organised throughout the academic year relating to the beauty industry, of which you will be required to pay a contribution towards.
