Virtual open week 2021

Coleg Sir Gâr is ready to welcome a new cohort of students, but this time things are going to be a little different.

In response to the coronavirus pandemic, the college has adapted their normal open evenings and created virtual open evenings instead.

The event aims to help people access first-hand information on education and training opportunities.

How does it work?

The virtual open evening works just like a traditional open evening, where members of the public would visit the college and learn more about various courses being offered from course tutors.

The only difference this time is that the meetings will take place online rather than face to face.

The virtual open evenings will include online talks and virtual meetings giving participance as much information as possible about courses, college life as well as any other queries such as finance and transport.

Due to the variety of courses available, each day will cover a different course area.

As specific subjects are being held on different days, it is advised that people take a look at the schedule in advance ensuring they remotely connect with the right teaching staff at the right times, this can be done online.

Who is it for?

The virtual open evening is an ideal opportunity for anyone who wishes to study at Coleg Sir Gâr in the future or interested in learning more about specific courses being offered.

Everyone is welcomed regardless of age and current qualifications as the college offers courses at various levels to cater everyone’s needs.

The college offers learning provision in a wide range of academic and vocational areas ranging from pre-entry to degree.

Also on offer are a range of work-based learning provision and apprenticeships.

The college also delivers a small amount of higher education provision (teacher training) which is funded through a franchise arrangement with the UWTSD.

 When is it?

The virtual open evenings will take place from Monday 8 March to Thursday 11 March 2021, from 5pm to 7.30pm.

How to be involved?

To join the virtual open evening, all you need to do is visit the college website.

Here, you’ll find campus walk-through videos and information about all the courses and qualifications available.

In order to take part in the virtual open evening, registration is essential.

After completing the online form for the specific subject area of interest, participants will receive an automated response.

Closer to the event itself, participants who completed the registration will be contacted by the college with times to join the live presentations and the Q&A session with course tutors.

If you have further queries or having any difficulties registering, please contact the college on 01554 748179 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
