Business students pitch to HSBC manager
Students at Coleg Sir Gâr have been pitching their business ideas to a representative from HSBC UK.
Ceri Jones challenged business students on finding funding, targeting audiences, marketing and the threat of competition.
New start-up ideas ranged from salons and specialist gifts to specialist edibles which were all presented and discussed during this online session.
Debbie Gill, lecturer in business at Coleg Sir Gâr said: “Industry insight is such an important part of the course for us as it offers that external added value to the students’ learning experience.
“Once they’d received feedback from Ceri, who we are really grateful to for offering his time, they formally pitched their presentation to me as part of their assessment.”
“Ceri has such a wealth of knowledge dealing with micro SME businesses and is a continued support to the college’s business courses as a regular guest speaker.”
Coleg Sir Gâr’s business courses which are currently taught at the college’s Pibwrlwyd campus will be moving to Graig campus in Llanelli from September (excluding AAT and ILM management) as well as travel and tourism provision.
