Students gain industry qualifications in paddlesport
Two Coleg Sir Gâr students have received industry qualifications as part of their studies in outdoor activities at Coleg Sir Gâr.
Dafydd Milns and Dafydd Owen-Edwards who have now completed their two-year extended diploma in outdoor activities at the college, also undertook the British Canoeing Paddlesport Instructor Award.
This was a two-day assessment and an additional qualification which the college has implemented and funded as part of the level three extended diploma course.
Outdoor residential centres and activity providers across Wales endorse the British Canoeing Paddlesport qualification as the award required to deliver a fun and safe introduction session to water sports.
Kim Nicholas, head of sport at Coleg Sir Gâr said: "We are so pleased to have this industry qualification available to all our Outdoor Activity students, which means they can gain employment whilst on the course.
“Recognition and thanks go our lecturer Steve Bird for organising this."
