Design and make your own large square scarf
Through a series of workshops you will build knowledge and skills in printed and embellished surfaces. You will develop design ideas from introductory drawing, mark-making and collage workshops, and then be guided through the process of hand block printing. You will also be given the opportunity to learn basic sewing machine techniques in adding surface decorations and seams.
This would be ideal for anyone, no matter what age or ability that has an interest in surface pattern decoration to build new skills and introduce them to our fabulous Carmarthen School of Art, and you will have full use of print facilities used by students on the Textiles: Knit, Weave and Mixed Media Degree course. This would make a fabulous Christmas gift for any returners to education, for anyone looking to support a hobby or if you have a general interest in textiles, fashion or interiors.
Basic materials are provided, and you will be informed during your class if additional items are needed for the following week. You are welcome to bring extra materials of interest to your project.
All places are allocated on a ‘first come first serve’ basis.
COVID: The welfare of our students, visitors and staff is of the utmost importance to us and the college follows the latest UK and Welsh Government guidelines; in the event of a Fire Break lock-down, we will inform you of re-scheduled classes.
