Art, Design & Fashion Saturday Club

Programme Description

This is an exciting, rewarding and nation-wide programme delivered here at Coleg Sir Gar for all learners aged 14 – 16.

You will be given the opportunity, guidance and support to experiment with a range of materials, processes and techniques from a broad range of disciplines. This is your opportunity to try something new and to challenge your creative thinking and problem solving through a varied and dynamic creative programme.

The Saturday Club programme also includes two London based national exhibitions  that all learners will work towards and that will include an exciting opportunity to have your work exhibited in a national exhibition.

Working with other creative individuals you will be given you the opportunity to collaborate and learn from each other but to also build friendships for life!

Programme Features

The almost year long experience will be broken down into key sections that lead into the London exhibitions, exciting local partnerships and a host of other opportunities.

Masterclasses are arranged with leading artists or key designers within the year and are communicated with you during the Saturday sessions. Where opportunities allow, trips will be organised to facilitate these masterclasses and other exciting opportunities.

The majority of our learners’ progress onto creative courses however, this is not always the case. The Saturday Club allows you to develop key transferrable skills such as collaboration, communication, creative thinking and problem solving.

Learners are able to use the work generated within the Saturday Club to support GCSE subjects where this is appropriate as well.

Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements or any need for a creative background. All we ask is that you come with a desire to have fun, gain creative skills and a willingness to join in where you can!
